flag ceremonies

It's about respect.  Flag ceremonies are part of all Scout meetings and are intended to be reverrent events.  Scouts should stand, remove hats and salute (only when in uniform) as the presenter instructs.  When flags are being presented or retired, scouts should remain at attention and focused on the flag presenter (no squirming or looking around) until they have finished.  On occassion scouts will be asked to present flags at religious/civic events outside of normal troop meetings.  As a member in the audience, the American flag should be posted to the left of the podium with the Troop or state flag posted to the right.
