Campouts are an integral part of the Scouting experience. They are optional, but some Scout ranks and merit badges have requirements that can only be fulfilled while camping. Camp prepared.
Scouts of second class rank or lower must have participated in at least three 2-night Troop campouts before signing up for campouts of more than two nights if their parent will not be accompanying them during the campout.
Once at the campsite, there will be at least two distinct camping areas adjacent to each other. One for adults and the other(s) for scouts. Adults and scouts do not camp together within the same camping areas.
Quiet time on campouts is nightly from 10pm to 7am with lights out at 11pm.
When camping by patrol, the following must be completed several days in advance:
Creating a menu plan.
Assigning tent-buddies (scouts who have yet to achieve the rank of 1st class must have a tent buddy).
Assigning a Grubmaster for each patrol. The grubmaster is responsible for any grocery shopping in advance of the campout.
Collecting money for groceries (and given to grubmaster).
Preparing the duty roster.
The following will help with patrol campout planning.
