troop historian

The historian collects, assembles, and preserves troop photographs, news stories, trophies, flags, scrapbooks, awards, and other memorabilia, and makes materials available for Scouting activities, courts of honor, the media, troop history projects, and digitally in the troop archive and on the troop website.

Responsibilities:

• gathers photos and facts about troop activities and keeps them in a historical file, scrapbook, or digital archive

• writes activity and outing recaps to be shared at COHs and on the Troop’s social media sites

• takes care of troop trophies, ribbons, and souvenirs of troop activities

• when needed and possible, digitizes photos and documents to be uploaded to the troop's digital archive

• works with the troop webmaster to upload/update relative digital content on the troop website

• keeps information about former members of the troop
